On a whim, Caroline gives up her job as a wedding planner to travel to New Orleans with her somewhat disreputable uncle Virgil to look for Virgil`s drug-addicted son, David. A man named Arch Demwalt offers to help if Caroline will insure that his wedding to the much younger Veronica goes off all right. But Veronica proves to be a difficult woman indeed: not only does she insist on riding a horse up to the altar, but she gets David back into drugs with a seductive bag of heroin.
