In a New Jersey suburb, an unlikely group of women accustomed to viewing sports from the sidelines, where they cheered first their boyfriends and husbands, and later their own sons and daughters, decided it was time for them to get in the game. Through many had never played competitive team sports of any kind, and most were approaching mid life, they started up a soccer league of their own and began to play, to learn, and to grow. As a league, their story is one of inspiration, self discovery, and endurance. Off the field, their personal stories range from battles with breast cancer and divorce to seriously ill children and refugee families in Kosovo.
