An amateur detective series opens featuring young Jeffrey Bones, his kindly grandfather, and their dog Curly. The three of them solve mysteries, with Bones collecting evidence while his grandfather makes puns and jokes about his name. Short chapters and a first-person narrative speed the story along, with bright cartoon illustrations that make Bones look like a brown-haired, live-action Howdy Doody. In this first installment, Mr. Green has misplaced an entire school bus and it's up to Bones to retrace the hapless driver's steps and figure out where he parked it.
