Adapted from Laurie Lee`s classic book about his boyhood in Cotswold, England during the early part of the 20th century, CIDER WITH ROSIE is a luminous film that succeeds in capturing the seemingly ineffable beauty of the book. The film follows Laurie from his early childhood through his adolescence in the Slad Valley of Cotswold Hills, where life had been the same for the last 1,000 years, a time when there was no electricity, no cars, and almost no contact with the outside world. However, as Laurie grows up, modernity starts to slowly work its way into Slad Valley, changing life there forever.
