Sara (Paige Turco) sets out on a boat to trap lobsters along with her abusive husband Ben (John Mese). Suddenly, a buoy is thrown from another passing boat that disappears into the night. When the two finally recover the buoy, they find a substantial amount of money inside. The very desperate Sara realizes that this money could be her only ticket to freedom. Ben, however, has plans to blow the loot on women and alcohol. Soon Sara begins to plan an escape with her secret lover Don (John Haymes Newton) who just happens to be Ben`s brother. Deception, betrayal, and danger follows just before the seemingly tight-knit plan is set is motion.
