In 1937, Adolf Hitler gathered together what he called Degenerate Art as an example of what was wrong with German culture. But his gambit backfired as the artists he chose to display turned out to be some of the most respected artists of the 20th century, including Max Beckmann, Emil Nolde, Oscar Kokoschka, Otto Dix and Max Ernst. Hitler`s exhibit was partially reconstructed at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 1991. This documentary looks at the reconstruction as well as the original installation.
