The first two-thirds of this interesting version of Robert Louis Stevenson's classic thriller sticks somewhat more closely to the original novella than most interpretations, then the movie veers off into surprising and imaginative new juxtapositions, incorporating a range of odd facets of its time (which has been updated from the book to the turn of the last century), resulting in a sort of cinematic best of both worlds. Writer-director-actor Mark Redfield's rendition of Hyde probably puts the viewer more in mind of John Barrymore's wondrous 1920 incarnation than any of the countless others versions.DVD Features:Region [unknown]Keep CaseFull Frame - 1.33Audio: [unspecified] - EnglishAddtional Release Material: Deleted Scenes Audio Commentary - Mark Redfield - Director Featurette -The Making of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005.
