The mountain regions of the world make up about 13 of its land area. These awe-inspiring peaks, which have been in existence for millions of years, represent some of the last wilderness areas on earth. A multitude of rare and wonderful wildlife species inhabit these regions, which are steadily changing. Poachers and changing population patterns are leaving less room for wildlife habitats.
