The years 1915 and 1916 were fruitful years for Charlie Chaplin as his contract with Essanay Studios provided him with much creative freedom and he was compensated quite well, though he would be paid much, much more upon his move to Mutual films during 1916. This collection boasts Chaplin's longest film to date, A BURLESQUE ON CARMEN where in forty-four minutes he relates the story of Carmen in a Chaplin setting, complete with'unhappy' ending. The other titles in this program are A NIGHT IN THE SHOW, POLICE and THE FLOORWALKER.
