George Mahoney is a refrigerator designer wedded to facts and the physical world, with more than a passing interest in dinosaurs. Niagara Spense, his new colleague, spends her spare time seeking electrical evidence of life beyond the grave--via an old valve wireless. Niagara is six feet tall, with cloth-brown hair, a hearing aid, and glasses thicker than George's own. George cannot stop thinking about her, despite his solid marriage, pretty wife, and two children. George's behavior becomes unpredictable. He contemplates adultery. His wife Judy, a trim and dynamic real estate agent, picks up some of the signals, but fortunately for George she's too busy worrying about their 12-year-old son, Harris, who may be a genius or just a troublesome child with a weight problem. Harris plots the science project that he hopes will get him out of going to fat camp, while Niagara, like a force of nature, turns George's world upside down. Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005.
