The 27 stories collected here represent virtually all of Anzia Yezierska`s short fiction, including the complete stories from the two collections published during her lifetime-- Hungry Hearts and Children of Loneliness --as well as seven additional stories, many about old age. Yezierska is best known for her novel, Bread Givers , set in the Jewish immigrant community of New York`s Lower East Side.
