Mark Buckle is a classic fumbler, a mediocre teacher in a mediocre school. What makes things worse is that he can`t seem to reconcile himself to the death of his girlfriend, Catherine, especially since her ghost is haunting him: he keeps hearing her voice and smelling her perfume. Then a very religious young woman named Tess comes along. Mark isn`t very keen on the spiritual life--but if Catherine`s ghost can exist, he begins thinking that maybe he should be more open-minded.
