This concert which took place in 1990, was a step along the long road of reconciliation between the two countries of Germany and Israel. The Berlin Philharmonic toured Israel and at the end featured a musical meeting with the Israel Philharmonic. Long-time Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Zubin Mehta, a German-based India native, did the honors on this special evening.
