After a traumatic accident, O'Leary Montagu travels to the little Irish town of Kilbrack, setting of his favorite book, a memoir by a woman named Nancy Valentine whose biography he aims to research. Among the characters he encounters there are the beautiful Livia, who wants only to enter the convent--but whose mother wants her to marry Montagu.
