When a fussy queen insists her son get married so she can retire from her ruling duties, the son replies, I`ve never cared much for princesses. A seemingly endless parade of courting princesses leaves the prince unmoved, until Princess Madeleine arrives--with her brother, Prince Lee. It`s love at first sight, and the two are quickly married--the two princes, that is. This Dutch story steers straight through several fossilized cultural taboos to present a prince for the 21st century. With mixed-media illustrations.
