King Birtram is a hardworking king who likes to relax by walking on a pair of stilts. When his stilts are stolen, the king becomes so sad that he is unable to run his kingdom, and it begins to fall into ruin. The task of recovering the royal stilts and restoring order to the land falls to a young boy named Eric. Two-color illustrations accompany the text.
