The Kronos Quartet are renowned classical musicians who bring new, contemporary life to classical music. This concert special captures the award-winning group performing 2 moving, operatic works. The first, George Crumb`s BLACK ANGELS, is a take on the horrors of the Vietnam War. Through music and words that are both whispered and screamed, the piece speaks of the pointless evils of war. The second work performed is GHOST OPERA by Tan Dun, a mix of virtuostic instrumental techniques with a simple folk sensibility.
