Nobody in the neighborhood has ever heard Louie speak so when Susie and Roberto put on a puppet show everyone is shocked when Louie suddenly stands up and starts talking to a puppet named Gussie. After the show Louie hugs the puppet and holds on to it like he will never let it go. Eventually Susie and Roberto convince Louie that Gussie needs her rest and so Louie goes home, sadly, alone. Will Susie and Roberto be able to think of a way to make Louie happy again? Illustrated with collage and paintings.
