This claymation version of Leo Tolstoy's Truths We Live By includes a voiceover by acclaimed actress Stockard Channing. Simon earns a meager living as a shoemaker, until his life is turned upside down by a chance encounter with a homeless man named Michael. Bringing Michael in to his home for warmth and shelter, the charitable shoemaker employs him as his assistant.
