Told mainly in flashback, THE PRIESTLY SINS recounts the life story of Father Herman Hoffman, explaining how he came to serve as a plaintiff's witness in the civil trial of a priest accused of raping an altar boy several years before. Father Hoffman is no cloistered virgin; he himself had a sexual relationship with a local girl before entering the seminary. But he has firm ideas about the difference between appropriate and inappropriate sexual expression, and is horrified by his superiors' attempts to hush up the altar boy's rape. Even now, the Archbishop is threatening severe repercussions if Father Hoffman helps to expose the crime. Will Father Hoffman be able to go against his own Church in order to remain true to his principles? Copyright (C) Muze Inc. 2005. For personal use only. All rights reserved.
