Based on the Greek myth, this novel tells the story of Atalanta, a fiercely independent Arcadian princess who defies her father`s order that she marry and produce an heir to the throne. When her father insists, Atalanta agrees to his demand on one condition: she will marry the first man who can best her in a race--but anyone she defeats must be killed.
