In this continuation of the traditional story of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Rudolph finds that his fame has negatively affected his relationship with the other reindeer and the elves. Rudolph`s unhappiness manifests itself in a very strange way--it takes the shine off his nose. Without his shiny nose, Rudolph feels that he`s of no use to Santa and so he runs away from home. However, he soon learns that it is his ability to help others, not his shiny nose, that make him special. Color illustrations accompany the text.
