Set in 1924, and based on historical records, this is a fictionized account of the archaeological exploration Giza 7000X--a site believed to be an Ancient Egyptian tomb. The excavation of this site (led by Dr. George Reisner, Director of the Harvard University/Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Expedition), is told through the eyes of a young American boy named Will Hunt who accompanies his archaeologist father on the expedition. As the story unfolds, Will helps the archaeologists uncover the mystery of whose tomb they have uncovered. Factual information about Ancient Egypt and the work of the archaeologists is conveyed via Will`s journal entries and postcards to his friend back home. Color paintings, historical photographs, and maps accompany the text.
