In the late 1800s, a number of meteors fell to Earth, damaging large areas of the nascent infrastructure of Europe and the Americas. Now, in the 21st century, the British Empire controls much of southern Asia, and one Captain Athelstane King commands the Peshawar Lancers, charged with keeping the peace among the locals.
