Elizabeth Spurr adapts a story featuring the comedic cast of Lucretia P. Hale's 1880 classic THE PETERKIN PAPERS. The Christmas tree seems too tall for the house, but for a family that forgot to name their three youngest boys, the solution is simple: raise the front room's ceiling. When the piano winds up pushed keys-first against a window, just play the piano through the window from outside the house. The Peterkins don't have enough ornaments to decorate the enormous tree, but the mysterious Lady from Philadelphia steps in to help. Immensely detailed watercolor illustrations accompany the text.
