This novel by Argentinean-Italian novelist J. Rodolfo Wilcock, who died in 1978, is heavily influenced by the work of Borges. It consists of short essays about people--some real, some imagined--with uncontrollable obsessions: a theatre director who believes he is a rabbit, a telepathic hypnotist, and a man who crusaded for his belief that the earth is hollow.
