Van, trying to hold off some Zaibach pursuers so that Hitomi and Allen can escape, attempts to fight off his enemies by using Escaflowne in its battle-knight mode. Unfortunately, Van is overpowered by his enemies tactics and is captured and put in prison. There, he learns the surprising identity of one of his attackers while Allen and Mitomi race to figure out where Van is being held captive.
