One of the greatest names in motorcycling, Triumph has earned devoted fans both for its legendary classics and its innovative modern machines. From the end of World War II until the early 1970s, Triumph imported tens of thousands of bikes to the U.S. for use on both the street and race track. With many of those motorcyles are still on the road, Triumph enjoys a place among the most popular collector bikes. Triumph`s complete history is explored, fromits turn-of-the-century founding to its demise in 1983 and subsequent resurrection and success since 1990. While a combination of archival black-and-white and specially commissioned modern color photographs cover the British bikemaker`s entire history, the emphasis is on classic postwar motorcycles like the Speed Twin, Tiger Trophy, Thunderbird, TR6, Bonneville, TT Special, and Trident, as well as specials and race models.
