Nearing the end of his competitive career, professional cyclist Will Ross suddenly finds himself on the Heaven Pharmaceuticals cycling team as a replacement for the French cycling champion, Jean-Pierre Colgan, who died in a shocking and suspicious encounter with a toaster. Ross is hounded by an inspector named Godot, antagonized by his ex-wife, Kim, who has recently been hired to run the Heaven team, and abused by the unscrupulous Martin Berglais, heir to Heaven Pharmaceuticals, who wants to pull the plug on the cycling team that his father`s sponsorship initiated. Meanwhile, Ross`s own agenda includes flirting with Cheryl, the team masseuse, while trying to salvage what little remains of his potential as a great cyclist.
