Jack Garrett and Wakely Fromm have been friends for more than 20 years. Now that Jack is running for President of the United States, Wakely is actively involved in his campaign, so it is more than a little shocking when Wakely commits suicide. Police Chief Susan Wren isn`t shocked--she`s suspicious, and she soon comes to believe that Wakely`s death is not a suicide but a murder.
