This Christian-oriented novel is about the troubles of the inhabitants of Leeway, Kansas, a tiny town where Velma`s Cafe is the center of things. Velma narrates the tale of a man who abuses his wife, a situation that ends in tragedy. Each chapter closes with one of Velma`s recipes.
