children can tell a tale or two by Carmela Horvath Worm I heard the author of Welfare Brat on NPR. Great story. My children can tell a tale or two. I was a "welfare mom" with 4 children for about 3 years following my divorce with a man who turned out to be a dead-beat dad (a whole other story in it self). Maybe I can write my memiors of the struggles humilation and simplicity of our life in the welfare system. Now in a low wage job and living penny to penny isn't much better. I am gonna get the book from the library. Thank God for libraries for us poor folk can't afford to buy a good book.
WHY ARE FOSTER HOMES ALWAYS BAD? by Jeff Himel Just because your mom grew up in foster care why was that bad ? Comments you made on foster homes were very negiitive on on a show that I heard you on in Phoenix on NPR. We had over 35 foster kids in our home over a 5 year period. We adopted 3 pre teenage boys. Because of all the damage they suffered at a early age it's been rough. The $396 that we were paid for 24/7 fostercare just about paid for food. Ill keep it at that !!
