When the press finds out that Boston gangster Butchy Crimmins has been informing for the FBI, Butchy and his girlfriend Mavis go on the lam. Their pursuers include the FBI, the Mafia, and the Boston District Attorney. As he narrates the chase, author Fredrickson satirizes nearly every aspect of the modern justice system.
