Ex-quarterback Ted Harper and his lovely wife Terri are planning to adopt the baby of young mother-to-be Melissa Burke. But after the baby's birth, San Francisco talk radio personality Bram Weaver announces that he is the baby's father, and sues for custody. Shortly thereafter, Bram is found murdered--and the police arrest Terri. The Harpers' lawyer, Kali O'Brien, thought she was going to be seeing the couple through a simple adoption case. But now she's gotten a lot more than she bargained for.
