Following the mysterious death of a local railway man, Wisconsin Deputy Sheriff P. A. Pennington begins to believe that his past is catching up with him in the form of a renegade SS colonel. After a raid at the height of World War II, Pennington disrupted a Nazi transport line, nearly capturing Christian Stangl. Now it looks as though Stangl is back, with a mind for settling the score.
