We address everyday problems and challenges by drawing on our practical experience and using it to find ways of adapting to new circumstances; learning through experience is the commonplace approach to learning. While much is known about classroom teaching and learning, far less attention has been given to learning in context--learning outside the classroom-- although this is where most learning takes place. Working with Experience collects the experiences of a number of learning practitioners writing from contrasting perspectives including feminist, Marxist, critical pedagogy, post-modernist and Gestalt, humanist, clinical and transpersonal psychology.
